Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Be citizens and permanent residents of developing countries (IDA Borrowing Countries list)

Be classified as International fee-paying students
-
Hold (or expect by Sept 2026) a First Degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class (2:1)

Be applying for a relevant taught Master’s programme
-
Have not studied for one year or more in a developed country
-
Demonstrate financial need (unable to self-fund UK study)
-
Commit to returning to their home country after study completion

Application Process
Stage 1:

Apply for an eligible taught Master’s programme at the University of Leeds

Obtain a Student Application Number
Stage 2:

Complete the online scholarship application form using your Student Application ID
Applications without a valid Student Application Number will be rejected
Selection Process

Individual schools shortlist candidates
-
Final selection made by the University of Leeds Scholarship Selection Panel

Shortlisted applicants notified within 10 weeks of the deadline
-
Unsuccessful applicants notified approximately 4 weeks after the deadline
