To qualify, applicants must:

Be domestic or international students enrolled or applying for a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program at ANU.

Meet the Commonwealth Scholarship Guidelines (Research) 2017 requirements.

Satisfy ANU’s RTP Policy and Procedures, including academic merit and supervisor availability.

Demonstrate outstanding academic performance and research potential.
Note: Current ANU HDR students (enrolled for less than one year full-time equivalent) may also apply using the Request for Current HDR Student Scholarship Form.
Benefits

Annual Stipend: AUD $39,069 (2026 full-time base rate).
