Fully Funded Research Scholarship at CQUniversity Australia Overview

The Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship at CQUniversity, funded by the Australian Government, supports students undertaking research higher degrees (RHDs) by covering living costs. This prestigious scholarship is aimed at both domestic and international students and runs for up to three years.

Scholarship Value

• $36,000 per annum (tax-free stipend)

• Paid fortnightly via the university payroll

• Includes an RTP Fees Offset Scholarship for domestic students (covers full tuition)

• Up to 3 years

Number of Scholarships Available

• 3 scholarships for the 2025 intake

Fully Funded Research Scholarship at CQUniversity Australia Eligibility

To be considered, applicants must:

• Be enrolled (or intending to enroll) in a research higher degree (RHD) at CQUniversity

• Be a domestic or international student

• Not be receiving any other income for living expenses that exceeds 75% of the RTP stipend rate

• Not hold another Commonwealth award intended to offset tuition fees (for fee offset eligibility)

Selection Criteria

This is a merit-based scholarship. Applications will be assessed using the following scale:

1. Academic Achievement and Writing Skills – up to 20 points

2. Quality of Proposed Research and alignment with CQUniversity’s priority areas – up to 15 points

3. Motivation, Research Experience, and Environment – up to 15 points

Application Process

• No direct application: Interested candidates must first discuss with their supervisory team

• Based on the recommendation, the School of Graduate Research will invite selected candidates to complete an application

• All applicants must submit a written submission and supporting documents

• Incomplete applications will not be considered

• Written submission

• Any documents required by the supervisory team or the School of Graduate Research

Important Notes

• Domestic students who receive the RTP Stipend will automatically get the RTP Fees Offset—no need for a separate application

• Recipients will be notified via email once scholarships are awarded
