The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026 selects 16 outstanding young leaders (18–30) from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East who are creating impact in areas affecting women and girls such as mental health, gender-based violence, SRHR, disability rights, and child welfare. Scholars will attend the fully funded One Young World Summit 2026, gaining global exposure, leadership training, and access to an influential network of changemakers. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be 18 – 30 years old at the time of the summit

• Be leading or actively involved in an organisation or initiative with proven impact

• Work in at least one of these areas:

  • Mental health

  • Domestic & sexual violence

  • Disability rights / rights of older people

  • Sexual & reproductive health and rights

  • Maternal & child health

  • Girl-child issues (FGM, child marriage, adolescent pregnancy)

  • Non-communicable diseases

• Live and create impact in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East

• Show willingness to collaborate with other scholars

(Exceptional candidates above 30 may be considered if impact is strong.)
