Hawk Scholars Scholarship at University of Houston: Overview

Hawk Scholars Scholarship HSS is a merit-based award for new graduate and undergraduate students beginning Spring 2026 at UHCL. It supports tuition with a 2000 USD award and offers resident tuition rates for eligible international and out-of-state students.

Hawk Scholars Scholarship at University of Houston: Eligibility Criteria

• First-time student at UHCL starting Spring 2026

• Minimum GPA of 30 as recalculated by UHCL

• Must be unconditionally admitted by the final deadline

• Must have submitted UHCL admissions application

• Must have paid the admission application fee

• Must have a UHCL identification number

• Must access E-Services to apply

• Must enroll in at least 6 credit hours during Spring 2026

• Payment of application fee

• Hawk Scholars Scholarship application through E-Services

Important Notes

• Award amount is 2000 USD for Spring 2026

• Eligible for resident tuition in Spring and Summer 2026

• Renewable for two additional semesters, Fall 2026 and Spring 2027

• Renewal amount is 1000 USD per semester

• Continued resident tuition through Summer 2027 if renewed

• To renew, students must complete at least 6 credit hours per semester and maintain a 30 cumulative GPA

• Scholarships are not automatically transferred if enrollment is deferred to another term
