International Graduate Program (C) at Institute of Science Tokyo: Overview

The International Graduate Program (C) at the Institute of Science Tokyo is designed for outstanding international students who wish to pursue advanced research in Japan. With 18 participating academic departments, this program offers opportunities for Master’s, Doctoral, and Integrated Doctoral studies in science, engineering, computing, life sciences, and social sciences.

All courses, lectures, and seminars are conducted in English, eliminating the need for prior Japanese language proficiency. However, students can take Japanese language classes to adapt to daily life in Japan.

Application Requirements

• Complete the online application form.

• Submit a consent mail/letter from a prospective supervisor.

• Academic transcripts, degree certificates, research plan, and recommendation letters.

• Application deadlines must be strictly followed.

• Alignment of applicant’s research interests with the chosen department.

• Quality of application documents and supervisor consent.

• Application Period (Spring 2026 intake): August 4, 2025 – October 12, 2025.

• Supervisor consent deadline: October 5, 2025 (23:59 JST).

• Final application deadline: October 12, 2025 (23:59 JST).

• Results announced: December 3, 2025 (15:00 JST).

• Enrollment available for Spring or Fall semesters.
