Jack Hirst Scholarship 2026: Overview

The Jack Hirst Scholarship offers one outstanding Nigerian student the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Imperial College London. This fully funded award supports postgraduate taught or Master’s research study in a wide range of cutting-edge Chemistry programmes.

Jack Hirst Scholarship 2026: Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a Nigerian national.

  • Be currently studying or conducting research in Chemistry at a Nigerian academic institution.

  • Have received an offer of admission to one of the eligible Chemistry Master’s courses at Imperial for 2026 entry.

  • Be a new student (not a continuing student).

Benefits

  • Full tuition fees at the Overseas rate.

  • Annual stipend equivalent to the UKRI rate (to cover living expenses).

Fellowship/Program Components

  • Study at Imperial College London’s Department of Chemistry, a leading hub for global research and innovation.

  • Engage in advanced research across chemistry fields such as molecular synthesis, catalysis, nanomaterials, and green chemistry.

Application Requirements

  • Apply for and receive an offer for one of the eligible Chemistry Master’s courses.

  • Email chemres@imperial.ac.uk by 23:59 (UK time) on 22 May 2026, clearly stating interest in being considered for the scholarship.

Selection Criteria

  • Strong academic background in Chemistry.

  • Research experience or potential aligned with the chosen Chemistry programme.

  • Meeting nationality and institutional eligibility requirements.

  1. Apply for one of the eligible Chemistry Master’s programmes (see list below).

  2. Secure an admission offer for 2026 entry.

  3. Send an email to chemres@imperial.ac.uk before the deadline (22 May 2026) requesting scholarship consideration.
