Japan Graduate School Scholarship for International Students 2025/2026: Overview
This scholarship supports international students pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees at Japanese graduate schools. Applicants may apply from abroad if they have already secured admission to a Japanese graduate school.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be foreign students accepted into or enrolled in a Japanese graduate school (Master’s or Doctoral program).

Submit applications directly to the foundation.

Be prepared to undergo document screening and interviews (in Tokyo or online).
Benefits
The scholarship provides a monthly stipend for the minimum required duration of the degree:

¥230,000/month – for 1–2 year degrees

¥210,000/month – for 3-year degrees
-
¥180,000/month – for programs longer than 3 years
