Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship 2026 at Osaka University for International Students: Overview
Osaka University offers the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for outstanding international students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The program is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan. Applicants can apply either through Embassy Recommendation or University Recommendation. Successful students will study at Osaka University with full financial support.

Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship 2026 at Osaka University for International Students: Eligibility Criteria
. Open to international students from all countries
. Excellent academic records
. Good communication skills in English or Japanese
. Undergraduate applicants must pass entrance examinations after completing a one-year preparatory Japanese course (Embassy route)
. Graduate applicants typically start as research students, then progress to Master’s or Doctoral programs after passing entrance exams
. Embassy recommendation applicants must pass the first screening by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in their country

Important Notes
. Embassy Recommendation applicants must apply through the Admissions Assistance Desk (AAD) for a Letter of Acceptance
