Job Title: Account Manager

Eleven’s account managers have a hand in all parts of our content marketing services. You will act as the primary point of contact for your accounts, advising them on strategy and offering innovative solutions to marketing problems, while leading teams of writers and editors in producing best-in-class content. As such, you must be:

  1. A capable content strategist, able to build a content plan from start to finish. This involves working closely with clients to understand their goals; leveraging tools such as Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console; knowing how to collect, organise, and manipulate data to determine the best path forward; and knowing how to adjust your strategy based on results.
  2. A strong writer or editor, with a keen understanding of target audience and user intent, readability and style, structure and flow, and grammar and spelling. You can look at an article and determine whether user intent has been met, how the article can be improved, and whether information is structured in a way that’s logical and valuable to the reader. You can teach these skills to others and enjoy coaching writers and editors.
  3. An excellent communicator, whether with clients or writers, editors, and other contractors. When speaking face-to-face, you are warm, friendly, poised, and confident, while your written communication is clear, concise, and well formatted. (Hint: We’re a writing agency! Capitalisation and punctuation matters to us.)

This role is fully remote and the hours are flexible. You would need to be available at some point through the day, most days, to respond to queries from clients, writers, and editors. Most of our clients are based in the UK and Europe, so any client calls you take would be during these work hours. Beyond this, you are largely free to determine your own day-to-day schedule.

Your day-to-day responsibilities would include:

  • Onboarding new clients and setting up their client area
  • Overseeing content strategy for clients, with support from our Head of SEO
  • Contributing to writer recruitment, alongside Eleven editors
  • Managing teams of writers and editors to produce content in line with client expectations, briefs, and other resources
  • Producing article briefs for writers based on the clients content objectives
  • Ensuring deadlines and expectations are met
  • Using your experience in digital content to bring new and innovative solutions to the client, as it relates to content, workflows, automation, and more
  • Leading video calls with your team and clients
  • Maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, friendliness, and supportiveness when interacting with clients

Desired skills, experience and qualifications

  • Strong understanding of written content, especially blog, thought leadership, and SEO content
  • Experience working in an agency or content environment as an Account Manager, Content Manager, SEO Strategist, etc.
  • Experience working closely with, managing, and speaking to clients on video calls or in-person
  • Experience developing content strategies, from start to finish
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and sales skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and intrinsic motivation
  • Willingness to respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Strong work ethic and a professional attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable using collaboration software (i.e., Google Workspace; Slack)

Pay & Logistics

  • Rates starting at £27/hr, with higher rates available based on experience.
  • 30-35 hours per week
  • Remote; flexible schedule (choose your own hours; some weekly meetings are mandatory).
