Job Title: Automation Test Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer specializing in Automation to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Propulsion Integration Division (AFLCMC/LPZ), in support of the Core Engine Maintenance System (CEMS) Program Management Office (PMO). The Test Engineer – Automation will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of CEMS software across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automated test plans, strategies, and scripts for the CEMS application.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and tools to support ongoing development and sustainment efforts.
- Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report findings to identify software defects and recommend improvements.
- Perform thorough regression testing and validate fixes for identified bugs.
- Manage all application testing activities across multiple environments, including GAT (Government Acceptance Testing) environments.
- Integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure early detection defects.
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and other stakeholders to align automated testing with CEMS objectives and requirements.
- Maintain and update existing automated test scripts to ensure continued accuracy and effectiveness.
- Utilize tools such as Selenium, JUnit, and Atlassian Zephyr Scale for automated testing.
- Support system availability, reliability, and performance goals exceeding 99% system uptime for the Air Force propulsion community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in automated testing and test engineering.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of automated testing strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Experience performing regression testing and troubleshooting software defects.
- Experience working in a structured SDLC environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
