Job Title: AV Design Engineer
The IT AV Technology and Design Architect will be responsible for creating global standards and integrating them into architectural solutions. This position is a senior level role that will collaborate with all levels of multiple technology sectors to position world class AV installations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Room Design for standard and unique spaces, including identifying and addressing any acoustic concerns and developing standards for client spaces.
- Review and coordinate with the appropriate teams the necessary power requirements, BTU output for HVAC concerns, flooring types, network integration requirements and ROM requirements.
- Meet with architects and interior designers to ensure IT AV Design and Technology guidelines are met.
- Provide oversight and approval on design changes and scope changes, develop and approve Change Order Process with appropriate teams.
- Design the standards into test fits, CAD drawings inclusive of Architectural and Schematic packets.
- Review building / floor test fits for budgetary scoping purposes and ROM for trades.
- Budgetary Analysis – prepare and review Audio Visual project budgets with the pertinent group and business units for approvals.
- Prepare quotation templates that marry scope with in-country quotations.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and review for accuracy, product substitutions, quotation pricing against baseline pricing.
- Ensure that the MSL IT AV Design and Technologies guidelines (including acoustics) are continually maintained as the program evolves.
- Attend on-going project meetings to ensure that MSL standards are maintained within the IT workstreams.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant industry standard hardware as well as client proprietary tools.
  WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Ability to be self-motivated and accountable in a fast-pace, independent environment.
- Ability to think creatively as well as methodically regarding technical issues and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Shure, Clearone, and other AV/VC related hardware and signal flow.
- Familiarity of Dante, AVoIP, Asset management and whitelisting procedures preferred.
- Knowledge and consideration of day 2 support during design stages
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to client culture.
- Ability to work both independently as well as with a team in remote environments.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting large/heavy objects and physical integration/maintenance work.
