AWS Network Engineer at Interfell, Remote (Global)

They are currently seeking a talented and motivated AWS Network Engineer to join their team and play a key role in the design, management, and optimization of their cloud network infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust and secure networking solutions on AWS, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, network access control lists (Network ACLs), Transit Gateways, VPNs (site-to-site, remote access, and cloud-based connections), and Direct Connect.
• Deploy and manage network devices on AWS (AWS Network Appliances) such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, among others, ensuring optimal performance and security within the AWS environment.
• Monitor and manage network performance within AWS environments, ensuring optimal functionality, security, and scalability of cloud resources.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to achieve seamless network integration and support across various cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation on AWS network configurations, operating procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with the IT Security team to implement robust network security controls on AWS, including access control lists (ACLs), firewalls (such as AWS WAF and Network Firewall), intrusion detection and prevention systems, and the development of cloud network security policies.
• Provide technical support to internal users and external stakeholders for AWS network connectivity and related issues.
• Lead project management related to networking activities on AWS, including upgrades, deployments, and migrations within the cloud.
• Manage and optimize multi-cloud network environments (Azure, GCP), including configuration, security, and resource optimization, with a primary focus on AWS.
• Collaborate with external customers throughout the network lifecycle, delivering reliable and secure networking solutions on AWS, from initial assessment to successful implementation of changes.
• Fill out the work timesheet daily

• AWS Networking
• AWS networking services:  VPC, Transit, Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, load balancers among others.
• AWS network appliances: such as Palo Alto, Networks, Fortinet, Check Point
• AWS Network Security Features and Best Practices
• Design and implementation of networks in AWS
• Experience in capacity planning, security, and network management in cloud environments .
• English C1/C2

Knowledge and Experiences

• 3+ years of dedicated experience as a Network Engineer at AWS or in a highly specialized AWS networking role.
• Expert-level experience with AWS networking services, including but not limited to VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, and load balancers.
• Proven experience deploying and managing network devices on AWS (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with AWS network security features and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially with complex cloud networking issues.
• Hands-on experience with AWS-specific monitoring, network diagnostics, and management tools.
• Proven and successful experience in network design and implementation on AWS.
• Proven experience in network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices in a cloud environment.
• Plus: AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty Certification
• Plus: Experience managing cloud network environments in Azure and GCP
• Plus: Familiarity with cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Plus: Experience with on-premises router, switch, and firewall technologies
• Conversational and written English.
