Clinical/Health Informatics Consultant at Helium Health, Remote (Nigeria)

We are looking for a Clinical/Health Informatics Consultant to support a review of clinical data capture and workflows within HeliumOS.

The consultant will work with relevant teams to review existing clinical forms and data-entry processes and provide recommendations to support the continued optimisation of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical forms, data fields, and data-entry workflows within the EMR.
• Assess data capture across key areas of the patient journey.
• Recommend opportunities to optimise the structure and standardisation of clinical data capture.
• Review the use of structured fields and free-text documentation and recommend appropriate approaches.
• Recommend relevant clinical terminology, classifications, and coding standards where applicable.
• Ensure recommendations reflect practical clinical workflows and do not create unnecessary documentation burden for healthcare providers.
• Work with relevant clinical, Product, Data, Public Health, and Engineering teams to validate and prioritise recommendations.

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) or other relevant clinical qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working with EMR/EHR systems, clinical informatics, clinical data management, or the design and optimisation of clinical data capture and documentation workflows.
• Good understanding of clinical documentation and healthcare workflows.
• Experience reviewing or designing clinical forms, EMR data fields, or structured health datasets.
• Understanding of health data quality and standardisation.
• Familiarity with relevant clinical terminology and coding standards such as ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, HL7/FHIR, or similar standards.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clinical and technical teams.
• Experience working with EMRs/EHRs in Nigeria or other African healthcare settings.
• Experience working with multi-facility health information systems.

This role is on a short term contract basis and offers a competitive pay.
