Job Title: Credit Officer

As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, analyzing creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to deliver seamless loan processing experiences while maintaining accurate records and monitoring payments.

Responsibilities

Credit Assessment & Loan Processing:

• Review and analyze loan applications and financial documents to determine credit risk.
• Conduct credit checks and assess applicants’ financial status, credit history, and repayment capacity.
• Make informed recommendations regarding loan approvals or denials while adhering to compliance policies.

Client Engagement & Documentation:

• Communicate with applicants to gather additional information and clarify discrepancies.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for loan decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.

Portfolio Monitoring & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of loan applications and monitor payments.
• Ensure compliance with lending policies, regulations, and procedures.

Reporting & Collaboration:

• Provide updates and reports on credit assessments, loan decisions, and portfolio performance.
• Actively engage with the team to improve lending solutions and resolve client issues efficiently.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline.
• Completion of NYSC.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Credit Officer in the financial sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
