Job Title: Data Management Technician
RP is seeking a Data Management Technician to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can manage data entry, data validation, and data maintenance tasks to ensure accurate and organized information across VA systems. The Data Management Technician will support data quality efforts, provide technical assistance, and maintain documentation to facilitate efficient data operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry, data cleansing, and data validation tasks to ensure accurate records.
- Assist in organizing and structuring data to improve accessibility and usability.
- Maintain and update data records, ensuring alignment with established data standards.
- Identify data discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies and resolve them efficiently.
- Support data migration efforts by preparing and transferring data between systems.
- Assist data managers and analysts with data extraction, reporting, and analysis tasks.
- Document data management processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to support data integrity initiatives.
- Respond to data-related inquiries and provide guidance on data best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel, Access, or Google Sheets.
- Experience working with database platforms like SQL or Microsoft SQL Server for querying and data maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple data sets and identify inconsistencies.
- Familiarity with data entry standards, data security practices, and quality control
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry, data management, or administrative support roles.
- Strong data entry skills with a proven ability to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Must be eligible for a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting government or healthcare IT environments.
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
