Job Title: Database Administrator / DevOps

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled Database Administrator with a knack for DevOps practices to take our infrastructure to the next level. If you have 5-7 years of experience managing databases, fine-tuning performance, ensuring security, and working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, this is your chance to make a real impact. Bonus points if you thrive in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cutting-edge DevOps tools!

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities would include the following:

Database Administration:

  • Manage and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases.
  • Ensure high performance, availability, and security.
  • Configure and maintain database instances, availability groups, and backups.
  • Handle database upgrades and performance tuning.

Windows & Linux Server Administration:

  • Configure, manage, and secure Windows Server environments.
  • Administer IIS, including configuration and performance optimization.
  • Manage Linux environments, including disk space, volume groups, and performance tuning.
  • Configure and secure HAProxy and Apache servers.

Hypervisor & Messaging Systems:

  • Administer VMware ESXI and Hyper-V.
  • Manage RabbitMQ and Redis Cache for high-performance messaging solutions.

Cloud Services Administration:

  • AWS: Manage RDS, Aurora (MySQL & PostgreSQL), EC2, Beanstalk, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, S3, WAF, GuardDuty, and cost/security optimizations.
  • Azure: Administer Notification Hubs, Virtual Machines, Networking, Data Factory, App Services, Cache for Redis, Cosmos DB, Managed SQL Server, Log Analytics, and Azure security best practices.

DevOps & Automation:

  • Manage Azure DevOps Pipelines (Build, Release, Deployment, Git Repositories, Artifacts, and Service Connections).
  • Work with CloudFormation, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes for deployment automation.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

  • Utilize ElasticSearch, Kibana, and Grafana for monitoring and alerting.
  • Optimize system and application performance across multiple environments.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in database administration and DevOps.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB administration.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like ElasticSearch, Kibana, and Grafana.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Database Administration.
  • Experience in high-availability systems and cloud security best practices.
  • Background in cost optimization and performance tuning for cloud environments.
