The USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a Director of Talent Diversity and Development to help grow and retain our best-in-class team of journalists. This director will be aligned with the Local News division of our organization and reports to the Operations Editor.
The successful candidate is a journalist who has extensive hiring experience in journalism and understands how to find and recruit talent that represents the best across disciplines at all skill levels. This person must be adept at partnering with our Content Recruiting Manager, HR business partners, hiring managers and Local News leadership to build and maintain a pipeline that feeds our vast network of news organizations.

- Work with internal partners to oversee internship programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, and at least 5 years’ experience in journalism.
- At least 2+ years of specialized recruiting experience in media or digital environment.
- Strong stakeholder focus and effective use of consultative approach with internal partners.

- Strong knowledge base and prior experience in full life-cycle experienced hire recruitment.
- Ability to quickly adapt to and embrace new technology.

- Deep experience in leveraging LinkedIn, social media and other platforms for recruiting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex recruitment and hiring issues with minimum guidance.
- Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment, post-offer background check.
