Project Overview and RoleData.FI is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the HIV, OVC and COVID-19 response. Data.FI partners with programs to accelerate and sustain access to high-quality data to expedite HIV, OVC and COVID-19 epidemic control and maintenance. By improving global, regional, national, and community/local in-depth analyses of HIV, OVC and COVID-19 epidemiologic and programmatic data, Data.FI expedites program achievements to improve client services and attain and sustain control of the epidemics. Data.FI supports host country governments to enhance existing health information systems (HIS), informing management responses to gaps in programming and sustaining impact by supporting local partner transition.
Purpose of Position
Palladium is seeking data assessors to support the conduct of the data validation exercise scheduled to hold across 3 states (Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Cross River). The objective of the data validation exercise is to determine the number of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and caregivers that are currently on the OVC program as at 30th September 2024 as reported by the outgoing Implementing Mechanism (IM) by evaluating the quality, accuracy, and completeness of the NOMIS data.This scope of work describes the duties and responsibilities of the data assessors for this activity
The data assessors will be jointly recruited by the OVC Implementing Partners ICHSSA-1 and Data.FI. The HR processes (i.e,. issuing contract letters to assessors) will be handled by the OVC Implementing Partners. CCCRN (ICHSSA-1).
Duration: The data validation engagement will be twelve (12) working days in across all states.
Location: Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Cross River.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•Participate in the orientation for the data validation exercise.
•Develop and submit daily reports of DQA activities to the Data.FI DQA site team leads.
•Review collected data thoroughly to ensure that it adheres to established guidelines and standards.
•Identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in the data per the DQA protocol and carefully document these discrepancies per the DQA protocol.
•Validate the accuracy and completeness of data entries based on predefined criteria.
•Documentation of data validation findings.
•Ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately by adhering to data privacy and security protocols.
•Conduct Household verification visit where required
Deliverable:
•The DQA abstraction tool will be submitted to Data.FI at the end of DQA at each site
•The checklist for phone call and/or house hold visit will be submitted at the end of each visit
•Signed consent forms.
Required Qualifications:
•Proficiency in the use of computers; with advanced skill in the use of Microsoft excel.
•Attention to detail and the ability to spot patterns and inconsistencies in data.
•Previous experience in data assessment or related roles is advantageous.
•Ability to communicate effectively.
•Knowledge of OVC program Implementation in Nigeria
•Candidate should have a functional laptop
Working Conditions:
•Temporary/Ad hoc position
•Work will be conducted primarily in community-based organizations
•May require travel to various locations within the state
•Daily updates and reporting to supervisors
