About the Job

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in various financial activities, including but not limited to, financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and reconciliation. You will work closely with internal teams, clients and external partners to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our company and gain valuable experience in the finance field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and analysing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconcilations of financial transactions, accounts and statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Utilize advanced excel and financial software tools to analyse large datasets and identify trends
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify discrepancies between transaction records and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of reconciliation processes, findings and resolutions.
  • Participate in financial audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Contribute to the implementation and improvement of financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring and analysing key financial metrics to provide insights for management decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and presentations for senior management as needed.

Critical Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, concepts, and practices.
