Description

We require an experienced individual to support function with delivering all financial reporting requirements for the 3 risk companies. Responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of all financial transactions/reporting and ensuring that existing controls are enforced effectively and developed were necessary.

In this role, you will have to work closely with various stake holders both internally (Local business finance teams & Group Finance, Tax, Treasury) and externally (Insurers, Brokers and Auditors)

The role’s key responsibilities will include:

 Preparing and finalizing budgets, rolling monthly forecasts and completing the actual year end reported results

 Managing Group Risk costs, cash flows, working capital, provisions and analyzing resulting variances to budget and prior forecast

 Managing the external audit process for Group Risk companies with particular focus on the statement of provisions

 Managing the services of the accounting function of the Captive management team and reviewing all reports produced by them

 Liaise with Captive Managers on other matters such as group loans, solvency, foreign currency hedging and impact of local legislation changes

 Support Head of Group Insurable Risk with key documents for Senior Exec presentations and decision making

 Support on evaluating Group Insurance renewal options, effects on current and subsequent years, also help manage financial expectation from any long term Insurer agreements

 Support on the annual insurance renewal exercise including user set up, sending instructions out and liaising with business’s Finance teams on advice around exposure collection. Assist with consolidated exposure reports

 Support Central Finance, Treasury and Tax functions by providing specific reports

 Manage the quarterly intercompany billing for US deductible

 Management of all historic portfolio transfers to Captive. Producing all claims reports to meet Insurer compliance requirements

 Analyze all opportunities to reduce fixed and programme expenses

 Update and review all claims reserving models (currently valued at £22M) to understand underlying movements and likely effects on year end results

 Maintain recoverable insurance claims ledgers and work with Claims Administrator to minimize these.

 Support negotiations with Insurers to lower levels of collateral (LOCs) required for prior self-insured years

Requirements

Essential

 Aspiring to become a member of an accounting professional body

 3 to 4 years’ experience in financial accounting roles

 Good understanding of IFRS

 Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

 Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages especially Excel (Advanced user

required), Word and PowerPoint.

 Time management skills, ability to prioritise work activities and work under own initiative

 A good eye for technical details and ability to complete all tasks in a thorough manner

 Positive approach and resilient in the face of obstacles.

 Ability to understand and interpret vast amounts of data.

Desirable

 Use of Risk Management systems to manage renewal information declarations

 Previous experience of working in a service industry.

 Use of accounting system (Navision for maintaining accounts ledgers and Purchase order, Cognos for inputting all monthly accounts)

 Full current driving licence.

 Exposure to commercial Insurance market
