Full Stack Software Engineer at Boulder Care, Remote (United States)

We’re hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer (L3) to join our Product & Engineering team and help build the tools our care team and patients need. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an engineer who can take a feature from scoped idea → build → launch → iteration, while collaborating closely with Product/Design and partnering with teammates to keep quality and velocity moving together.

You’ll build across our stack (React, React Native, NestJS, GraphQL, Postgres) to remove friction from care, support clinicians at scale, and ensure patients remain at the center of every experience we deliver.

What you’ll do

  • Ship high-quality features that improve patient care
  • Build reliable, well-tested software across our apps and backend that helps patients access treatment and enables care teams to work efficiently.
  • Break down problems, propose clear solutions, and deliver code that’s maintainable and scalable.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documenting your work.
  • Improve stability, performance and day-to-day developer experience
  • Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and tech debt that slow us down.
  • Contribute to shared infrastructure, testing patterns, and monitoring so the platform stays fast and dependable.
    Support incident response when needed.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively
  • Partner tightly with Product and Design on scope, tradeoffs, and iteration, especially when requirements evolve.
  • Surface risks early (technical, timeline, quality) so the team can make informed decisions.
  • Be a strong teammate: thoughtful code reviews, solid documentation, and constructive collaboration and feedback.

What success looks like

  • You consistently ship high-quality work across the stack, balancing speed and maintainability.
  • You make targeted improvements as you work (tests, observability, performance), and leave the codebase better than you found it.
  • You collaborate clearly across functions and ask good questions, propose options, and help the team land on a clear plan.
  • You model strong engineering judgment and contribute to elevating the team’s technical practices.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production software
  • Years of experience are a guideline. We care more about demonstrated impact and scope
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+) and comfort building full-stack applications
Hands-on experience across multiple layers of the stack, ideally React or React Native on the front-end, and NestJS/GraphQL services on the back-end
  • A track record of shipping well-scoped, high-quality features with clear attention to reliability, maintainability, and performance
  • You can independently debug most issues, and you know when to pull in a teammate
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well with engineering team mates, Product, and Design
  • Curiosity, empathy, and a desire to build software that directly improves patient lives

If this role excites you but your background doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we still encourage you to apply! We value demonstrated impact, growth potential, and diverse experiences.
