Full-stack Software Engineer at Wavelo, Remote (Canada)

We are building a cloud-native platform of microservices that communicate via event streams. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to implementing and maintaining these services, including:

• Modeling domain events
• Publishing/consuming events
• Composing workflows across services

You will work closely with your peers to understand customer requirements and translate them into functional software solutions. Your work will span from event-driven services to customer-facing interfaces, ensuring that our users have seamless, reliable, and impactful experiences.

This is a remote position open to applicants in Canada.

Duties

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of software applications and systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and efficient code
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
• Build influence within a microservice’s design and implementation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Growing professional expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems
• Ability to complete work within team-defined guidelines
• Skilled at fixing moderate, well-scoped issues
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build internal/external working relationships
• Capable of working independently with general supervision

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering

The base salary range for this position is $99,000 – $110,000 CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
