THE ROLE
Skytree is poised to become a true disruptor in the carbon tech industry in the coming years, and a key element of that success will be you—the IoT OTA Engineer. In this role, reporting to the Software Lead, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and secure deployment of firmware and software updates for our IoT devices. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the Over-the-Air (OTA) update infrastructure, maintaining the integrity of our servers, and implementing strong security protocols to protect the update process.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

Design, deploy, and maintain the OTA update server infrastructure, while monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability.

Coordinate and manage IoT device firmware deployments by developing and implementing efficient, reliable Over-the-Air update processes.

Implement security best practices for OTA update infrastructure, conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Stay updated on the latest OTA protocols and standards, and integrate new protocols to improve the update process.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software development, to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of firmware updates.

Maintain detailed documentation for OTA server configurations, update procedures, and security protocols.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Proven experience in managing OTA update servers for IoT devices.

Familiarity with IoT device management platforms

Strong knowledge of IoT firmware deployment and update processes.

Experience with IoT communication protocols like MQTT or CoAPExpertise in server administration and maintenance.

Familiarity with security protocols and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.
