IT Support Officer at Mkobo Microfinance Bank, Lagos, Nigeria
The IT Support Officer at Mkobo Microfinance Bank will provide technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure across the organization. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, maintaining IT equipment, and assisting in the implementation of IT policies and procedures. The IT Support Officer will report directly to the IT Manager and play a critical role in maintaining the organization’s IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, laptops, printers, servers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of operating systems, software applications, and network devices.
- Conduct regular checks on IT equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across IT systems as directed by the IT Manager.
- Assist in performing regular backups of critical data and systems and test backup integrity by restoring data periodically.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining LAN/Wireless networks.
- Install and update antivirus software on all devices, ensuring regular scans and cleanups.
- Prepare regular reports on IT support activities, including issue trends and resolution times.
- Provide basic training to end-users on IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably in a microfinance or banking environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, MacOS,) mobile devices (Android and iOS), and software applications.
- Familiarity with LAN/Wireless networks, internet connectivity and IT security principles and tools.
