Role Overview

Civo is seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Support Technician to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and providing exceptional support to our internal users. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Support the onboarding process by setting up IT equipment, user accounts, and access permissions for new employees.
  • Assist in the off-boarding process by ensuring the secure removal of access and proper handling of IT assets.
  • Provide IT training for new employees.

Technical Support:

  • Provide first-line support to internal users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure optimal functionality.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Support the maintenance and administration of Google Workspace and other cloud based applications.
  • Manage and maintain VPN services to ensure secure remote access for employees.
  • Ensure regular updates and patches are applied to systems and software to maintain security and performance.

Project Support:

  • Collaborate with wider tech teams on various projects, such as system upgrades and migrations.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of new IT initiatives and technologies.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of IT policies and procedures.

Compliance and Audits:

  • Support compliance processes by ensuring IT practices adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in preparing for and conducting IT audits, including providing necessary documentation and evidence.
  • Work with compliance teams to implement and maintain security measures and protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an IT support specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration and support.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a technology company is a plus.
