Legal & HR Manager at Watini Engineering and Construction Limited, Lagos, Nigeria
We are seeking a versatile Legal & HR Manager, a lawyer who is truly passionate about people. This is not just a support role; you will be a strategic partner to the leadership team, responsible for building robust HR frameworks and ensuring legal compliance as we scale.
Responsibilities:
Legal Counsel:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (vendor, client, partnership, employment).
- Ensure full compliance with all Nigerian corporate and labour laws (e.g., Pensions, ITF, NSITF, HMO).
- Manage and mitigate legal risks, providing proactive advice to the management team.
- Oversee corporate governance and intellectual property matters.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any legal disputes or regulatory inquiries.
Human Resources:
- Develop and implement all core HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle: from recruitment and onboarding to performance reviews and offboarding.
- Foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee payroll coordination, benefits administration, and staff training & development.

Who You Are:
- A qualified lawyer with an LL.B, called to the Nigerian Bar.
- 3-5 years of combined experience in legal practice (corporate/commercial law) and hands-on HR management.
- Deep, practical knowledge of property / Real Estate Law e.g, specialize in land acquisition, due diligence, title verification, and documentation.
- A proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- You are highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: ₦450,000 per month
