Join Valera Health, a best-in-class tele-mental health service company, and be a vital part of our compassionate care team! We are seeking a skilled, dedicated LPN/LVN to support our providers and patients in delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate behavioral healthcare. This is an opportunity to work from home with flexible hours.

This position is a 1099 contractor, temp-to-perm role within our Psychiatry Operations department.

You will collaborate with a wide range of experts, including health coaches, therapists, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated treatment tailored to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant, you will perform administrative and clinical tasks that facilitate smooth and efficient delivery of services. Your core responsibilities include:

Supporting MDs/NPs with essential patient tasks, including ordering labs, obtaining prior authorizations, and triaging/scheduling urgent visits.

  • Managing all faxes related to medications and/or lab work, generally received from pharmacies, insurance, or lab companies.
  • Monitoring the refill email, voicemails, and the prescription refill feature in NextGen EHR throughout the business day.
  • Responding to patient and general staff inquiries regarding medication issues/concerns.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Active, unencumbered LPN/LVN licensure.
  • Experience in Behavioral Health.
  • Experience with Telehealth.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A private work environment to maintain patient confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate may also have:

  • Experience with insurance prior authorizations, including covermymeds.com.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Current residency in New York state.

Compensation

  • $24-$25hr

Physical Demands

Occasional (0-40%) / Frequent (41-71%) / Constant (72-100%)

  • Constant computer work, which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, pulling, collating, and filing, some of which could be heavy (>10 lbs).
