Mobile Engineer (iOS & Android)

Job Scope

As a Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for developing Bamboo applications for mobile devices powered by Apple’s iOS operating system. You will be designing and developing new features and improving existing ones.We are looking for a result-driven and analytical software engineer to work on our native iOS mobile application.You will use your understanding of programming tools and languages to analyze current codes, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems and create a fantastic experience for users. Working on fixed returns and wallets for the platform. You will obsess over business metrics around user accounts, deposits and trades.

You will work with the engineering team to help us fulfill our vision to deliver innovative financial products and features that provide new levels of accessibility and flexibility to our users.You will work with other high performing engineers, contributing to and delivering key features to the Member Home Platform. Your work will have a measurable impact on millions of bamboo users, and help people get their money right.

You will bring payments industry expertise to the team, define specifications, participate in weekly team syncs, manage roadmaps, ensure safe and efficient payment processing, and prioritize development capacity. You will ensure strategic direction and effective detailed plans are in place from architecture to operations to go-to-market. Your role is central to ensuring Bamboo app releases are high-quality and support our markets and customers.

You will work cross-functionally across our retail Platform, PBB and B4M product to manage the operational delivery of technical projects that are instrumental in building data-driven user experiences that are shaping the future of financial services. You will obsess over business metrics around user accounts, deposits and trades.

Work with the product team to ensure that product requirements are understood and built accordingly.

What you will be doing

Generate simple and elegant designs that are easily deployed and debugged, but anticipate the unhappy path. Write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.

Work with engineers across Bamboo on project definition, technical specification, task break-down, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance as we build the Bamboo products (B4B, PBB BR) t+ app.

Design and build advanced app features for the iOS platform

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elaborate, design, and implement new features employing high quality software design, code & processes

Troubleshoot code for edge usability, reliability, and edge cases

Identify and fix bugs; work on app performance

Keep abreast with new technologies, estimate and implement them in order to make app development faster and easier

Independently craft project solutions by applying solid Object-Oriented-Design principles

Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Review others’ work and provide constructive feedback in order to maintain high and consistent quality standards across teams.

Leverage data-driven experimentation and measurement frameworks to track product success or lack of thereof.Consistently integrate behavior data and customer feedback into key product decisions.

Deliver customer value iteratively, manage Bamboo retail products through various launch phases and follow-on releases, and ensure high return on development capacity.

Foster collaboration with product managers, quality assurance, and marketing to explore, prioritize, and launch solutions.

Monitor, and measure success metrics after product launch to revenue goals.

Incorporate feedback and work items into the product roadmap by talking to customers, looking at the data, and building products that our users will love.

Experience, Skills & Behaviours

You have 4+ years experience in technical roles including 2+ in product management in the fintech industry or on a consumer finance product.

You are proficient in software development life-cycle principles, including release management.Have deep knowledge of every stage of the product life-cycle and understands how it affects development adjustments

You’re skilled at gathering both internal and external customer feedback and requests, empathizing with their challenges and opportunities, and prioritizing roadmaps to optimize results.

2+ years of experience in mobile programming and mobile architecture

Previous experience building mobile applications with rich UI and great UX

Love for building mobile applications and detailed knowledge of Android or iOS

Experience in using REST services (JSON/XML)

Understanding of HTTP/S and web-based application architecture

Passion for delivering the best user experience possible on mobile

Relational Database knowledge including SQL programming.

You are a rockstar with project management/software tools: JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence Gsuite, base camp, Miro and figma/figjam.

Deep knowledge of mobile technologies on the iOS and Android platforms, especially related to beta, and production release processes.

You have experience with performance and/or security testing

You are known for being a creative problem solver with the attitude that there is no problem that cannot be solved, fixed, or mitigated.
