QA Specialist at Chess, Remote (Global)

You’re passionate about quality and take pride in raising the bar across teams and features. With hands-on experience in test management systems, you know how to design, execute, and monitor test suites that actually move the needle. You care about helping teams adopt better practices, and you do it with humility, humor, and a collaborative spirit. What You’ll Do

  • Plan, develop, and execute testing strategies.
  • Design and maintain test plans and cases, leveraging AI for smarter coverage, faster updates, and edge-case discovery.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing across web and mobile platforms (iOS & Android) to ensure consistent quality.
  • Collaborate with the automation team to identify gaps, set priorities, and expand regression coverage using tools like Playwright.
  • Continuously refine test data management and environments to streamline validation.
  • Identify product functionality gaps and implement systemic improvements to testing.
  • Establish standards and best practices for embedding quality throughout the development process.
  • Use analytics and defect trend analysis to proactively highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Pinpoint areas of the customer experience that are suboptimal and advocate effectively for improvements.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in JIRA
  • Experience with AI-assisted test case design and bug analysis
  • Hands-on experience testing mobile apps (iOS & Android)
  • Familiarity with Playwright or similar automation frameworks (in partnership with the automation team)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Chess player
  • Lifelong learner

About the Opportunity
