Sr Product Manager – Hotels Content Platform
About the job
The hotel content platform team is central to delivering high-quality hotel content to Hopper users – serving hotel descriptions, amenities, pictures, reviews, neighborhood information, etc. Beyond price, many factors come into play when selecting a hotel. High-quality content is a critical differentiator in increasing user trust and improving conversion rates.
We’re currently seeking a product manager with a good mix of API and system design skills, as well as consumer product strategy skills, to lead a major rebuild of our hotel content platform.
Product Managers at Hopper are “smart creatives” who obsess over the customer and will help transform Hopper from a disruptive startup into a global leader in travel. As a Product Manager, you will work at the intersection of software development, data science, and user experience to solve real customer problems and create unique value. You will need to dive deep into the data and develop an understanding of the competitive travel landscape to ground the basis for new product features. On any given day – whether you’re surveying customers to better understand their needs, partnering with engineering to scope a feature down to the MVP, or combing through data for new insights – your contribution will be critical to Hopper’s current and future success.
What would your day-to-day look like:
-
- With your revenue leader, establish North Star Objectives, KPIs, and strategic plans
- Plan and own quarterly roadmaps to maximize customer and business impact
- Ideate, identify opportunities, and launch experiments targeting customers directly to validate your hypotheses
- Produce narratives and requirements documents, working closely with your engineering team to design a scalable and reliable platform
- Plan platform adoption milestones with internal consumer and partner-facing teams
- Establish a content sourcing strategy with supply teams
- Make things happen! Scope the day-to-day work, get in the trenches with the team, remove roadblocks and ensure we always focus on what’s truly important for our customers
- Make high-judgment decisions independently in ambiguous situations, and translate data into digestible business intelligence and actionable insights
An ideal candidate has:
-
- A passion for Hopper’s mission to build the most customer-centric travel marketplace on Earth
- At least 3 years working in product management or technical product management
- Technical depth and experience with API based products to enable productive collaboration with world-class engineers
- Highly proficient analytical abilities to draw accurate conclusions from data and adjust strategy accordingly
- Obsessive focus on the details in planning, evaluating, and building products
- A track record of evaluating product initiatives via both qualitative logic and quantitative assessment
- Excellent writing and communication skills to construct compelling business cases
- Low ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company
