Job Description
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Tax Filings:
- Take the lead in the preparation and review of monthly and regular tax filings, including corporate income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other applicable tax forms.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance and accounting, to gather necessary information for accurate tax filings
2. Tax Audit with LIRS and FIRS
- Manage FIRS and LIRS audits as part of the Tax and Audit Accountant role.
- Maintain regular communication with the existing tax consultant to stay updated on potential tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with the Treasury Accountant to plan and facilitate timely tax payments.
- Coordinate with tax advisors to provide necessary documents requested by FIRS and LIRS auditors in compliance with audit requirements.
3. Annual Audit with External Auditors
- Plan, execute, and lead audits of financial controls, operational controls, and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Prepare audit schedules for auditors
- Communicate audit results to management, providing insights into control deficiencies and their impact on business operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, and auditing.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proven experience in managing tax filings and audits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
