Job Title: Technical Support Officer (Electronics)
Location: ABEOKUTA
Reports To: Sales Manager
Salary: 80,000 – 90,000

Job Summary:

The Technical Support Officer will provide comprehensive technical support to customers, focusing on pre-sales consultations, product demonstrations, and after-sales support for electronics products. The role involves assisting the sales team in managing product inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. The officer will also be responsible for product setup, technical training, and handling returns or repairs.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Pre-Sales Technical Support:

  • o Provide detailed product knowledge to customers during the pre-sales phase, including specifications, functionality, and compatibility of electronics products.
  • o Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical advice to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  • o Collaborate with the sales team to match customer requirements with the best available product solutions.

2. Sales Management Support:

  • o Act as a technical liaison between the sales team and customers, ensuring smooth communication of technical details.
  • o Help identify customer needs and recommend suitable electronics products, upselling where appropriate.

3. After-Sales Technical Support:

  • o Handle customer inquiries and complaints regarding the operation or performance of purchased electronics, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
  • o Provide technical assistance to customers post-purchase, including product installation, setup, and configuration.
  • o Manage repair and maintenance processes for faulty products, coordinating with manufacturers or repair centers when needed.
  • o Maintain detailed records of after-sales services, including repairs, returns, replacements, and customer feedback.

4. Product Knowledge and Training:

  • o Stay up-to-date with the latest electronics products, technological advancements, and industry trends.
  • o Provide technical training to internal teams and customers, ensuring they are proficient in using electronics products.

5. Inventory and Warranty Management:

  • o Assist in tracking electronics stock levels, ensuring availability of products for sales and replacement purposes.
  • o Manage product warranties, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and handle warranty claims efficiently.

6. Customer Relationship Management:

  • o Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering excellent technical support and customer service.
  • o Provide recommendations for product improvements based on customer experiences and feedback.

7. Reporting and Documentation:

  • o Maintain accurate records of technical support interactions, including inquiries, complaints, solutions, and repairs.
  • o Prepare regular reports on common technical issues, customer satisfaction, and after-sales service performance.
  • o Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure cohesive service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technical support, preferably in the electronics or technology industry.
• Strong understanding of electronics products, including troubleshooting and installation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information in simple terms.
• Proven customer service skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
• Familiarity with after-sales processes, including warranties, repairs, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of inventory management and sales support tools.
• Problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
