Job summary

We are looking for a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to work alongside the compliance team and report directly into the Transaction Monitoring Lead. The individual will be responsible for day to day monitoring of alerts. The individual will need to ensure they are aware of scenarios requiring monitoring and expectation of clients’ activity against their expected trading profile.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To review transaction monitoring alerts for incoming and outgoing payments and transactions to identify unusual and suspicious activity;
  • Monitoring and analysis of OTC derivative transactions for reporting
  • Identify anomalies with invoices and accurately establish documentation regarding Source of Funds/ Source of Wealth.
  • Detecting suspicious activities and conducting appropriate SAR e-filing with the NCA
  • Assisting with building money laundering typologies knowledge within the team and across the wider business
  • Conduct research using internal and external sources to help determine potential suspicious activity and disposition or investigate as appropriate
  • Present recommendations on clients, to include exit, supported by comprehensive assessments on Financial Crime risks and outcomes of investigations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum of two years experience in a financial institution (Fintech environment is preferred)
  • Knowledge of sectors such as money remittance, electronic money and merchant acquirers
  • Good knowledge of UK and EU compliance laws and regulations applicable to financial institutions (including but not limiting to, MLR 2017, PSR 2017, DPA 2018, JMLSG)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team driven environment
