Khalifa University Graduate Admission Requirements 2025 Overview

Khalifa University of Science and Technology, UAE, offers competitive graduate programs in science, engineering, and technology. Programs are available for both full-time and part-time study, with fully-funded options for eligible students.

Khalifa University Graduate Admission Requirements 2025 Eligibility

For Master’s Applicants

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (or UK upper second-class honours or equivalent).

• Minimum English proficiency:

  • TOEFL iBT: 91 (test center only)

  • IELTS: 6.5 overall

  • EmSAT English: 1550

• Two referee recommendations.

• Statement of Purpose (500–1,000 words).

• Admission interview.

For PhD Applicants with MSc

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant disciplines.

• Bachelor’s CGPA: 3.0/4.0 minimum.

• Master’s CGPA: 3.25/4.0 minimum.

• GRE not required.

• English proficiency requirements same as Master’s.

• Two referee recommendations.

• Statement of Purpose (500–1,000 words).

• Research Statement (500–1,000 words).

• Admission interview.

For Direct PhD Applicants (without MSc)

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent.

• GRE required (quantitative score ≥ 150; must attempt all 3 sections).

• English proficiency requirements same as above.

• Two referee recommendations.

• Statement of Purpose and Research Statement (each 500–1,000 words).

• Admission interview.

English Language Test Exemptions

May be granted (subject to approval) if the applicant:

• Is a native English speaker (US, UK, Canada, Australia, NZ, etc.), or

• Graduated from an English-medium institution and can provide proof of minimum IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 79 iBT, or EmSAT 1400 at time of admission.

All applicants must upload proof of English proficiency, even if requesting exemption.

Application Requirements

Applicants must upload clear scanned copies of the following documents:

• Application fee of AED 200 (VAT inclusive).

• Certified copy of Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.

• UAE Ministry of Education Equivalency Certificate (for degrees outside the UAE).

• Official transcripts with grading scale.

• English test score certificate.

• GRE score report (PhD applicants).

• Detailed CV.

• Statement of Purpose (500–1,000 words).

• Research Statement (PhD only).

• Passport-style photo (white background).

• Passport copy. UAE visa (if residing in UAE).

• UAE National ID (for applicants in UAE).

• Khulasat Al Qaid (UAE nationals only).
