London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) First Generation Scholarship (Distance Learning) 2025-26 Overview
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is offering two fully funded scholarships for students pursuing a Master’s degree by distance learning. This initiative supports students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in higher education, ensuring they can study flexibly and succeed at LSHTM.
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) First Generation Scholarship (Distance Learning) 2025-26 Eligibility
- Open to applicants enrolling in one of LSHTM’s six distance learning MSc programs for the 2025-26 academic year.
- Must be the first in their family to enter higher education (i.e., neither parent/guardian obtained a university degree before the applicant turned 18).
- Must meet LSHTM’s English language requirements.
- Not eligible if the applicant already holds a Master’s degree or higher qualification.
📌 Preference will be given to applicants who identify as:
- Black ethnicity
- Care experienced
- Caregiver
- Disabled
- Estranged from family
- Refugee or asylum seeker

- Full tuition fee coverage for the MSc distance learning program.
Application Process
- Apply for an eligible MSc distance learning program following LSHTM’s admissions guidelines.
- Submit all required supporting documents (including references) via the admissions portal.
- Hold an offer of admission by 28 March 2025.
- Eligible offer holders will receive a supplementary question form to discuss the educational barriers they have faced and how they have overcome them.
- Scholarship decisions will be announced by 23 May 2025.
