Minerva Scholarship Fund 2025: Overview

The Minerva Scholarship Fund (MSF), established in 2009 by the Leiden Minerva Student Association, provides financial support to Leiden University students for exceptional study, internship, or research projects abroad. Scholarships range from €900 to €2000 and aim to fund exclusive, prestigious, and impactful academic projects.

Minerva Scholarship Fund 2025: Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student at Leiden University.

• Not necessarily be a member of L.S.V. Minerva.

• Propose a project in one of these categories: internship, study, or research abroad.

• Note: PhD tracks and full Master programmes are not eligible.

Minerva Scholarship Fund 2025: Benefits

• Scholarship amount: €900 – €2000.

• Covers:

  • International travel costs

  • Living expenses abroad

  • Research-related costs

Fellowship/Program Components

• Supports projects in all faculties at Leiden University (Humanities, Science, Law, Medicine, Governance & Global Affairs, Social Sciences, etc.).

• Obligation: Submit a final project report with images within 3 months of completion.

• Two funding rounds each year: 15 April & 15 November.

• Submit the full application dossier before the deadline.

Selection Criteria

• Reviewed by a committee of Leiden University lecturers from different disciplines.

• Evaluation based on:

  • Relevance and prestige of the project

  • Contribution to advancing academic knowledge

• Selection outcomes are final (no appeal possible).

2. Fill out the form and gather all required documents.

3. Submit the completed dossier before the deadline.

4. Receive the results within one month after the deadline.
