Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship at Chatham House 2025 Overview
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship at Chatham House is a ten-month programme designed for early-to-mid-career professionals from African countries. Fellows work on individual research projects, participate in leadership development, and contribute to ongoing research at Chatham House.
Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship at Chatham House 2025 Eligibility
- Open to citizens of any African country, including those with dual nationality.
- Must hold a BA degree or equivalent and have research experience.
- Should be at the early-to-mid-stage of their career in fields such as academia, NGOs, business, government, civil society, or media.
- No age restrictions apply.
Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship at Chatham House 2025 Benefits
- Monthly stipend of £2,565 for living expenses in London.
- Relocation costs are covered, including travel, accommodation support, and visa fees.
- UK Immigration Health Surcharge (excluding dental/optical care and prescriptions).
- Research expenses covered for fieldwork, outreach, events, and publications.
- Alumni benefits, include a five-year Chatham House membership and access to the Academy network.
Fellowship Components
Fellows spend their time across three key areas:
- Research Project (60%) – Undertake a personal research project with the guidance of a Chatham House expert.
- Leadership Programme (20%) – Participate in masterclasses, workshops, and personal development coaching.
- Research Contributions (20%) – Support Chatham House’s research initiatives.
Leadership Programme Includes:
- Induction Week – Introduction to Chatham House and first personal development session.
- Thematic Sessions – Discussions on international affairs with experts.
- Leadership Skills Workshops – Training in policy impact, negotiation, and crisis management.
- Leadership Briefings – Interactions with global leaders.
- Project Presentations – Develop presentation and peer-review skills.
- Media Training – TV and radio interview skills.
- Career Mentoring (Optional) – Guidance for career growth.
