The Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) 2026 Visiting Fellowship Program invites early-career international researchers to conduct a 12-month fully funded postdoctoral fellowship in France. Funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), the fellowship promotes cutting-edge research in climate, environment, and sustainability, aligned with the Paris Agreement.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Not holding French citizenship.
  • Hold a PhD degree awarded within the last 5 years (between Dec. 2020 and Dec. 2025).
  • Not have resided in France for more than 90 consecutive days between Sept. 12 and Dec. 12, 2025.

Research Themes

Eligible projects should focus on one of the following:

  1. Earth System Sciences
  2. Climate Change & Sustainability Science
  3. Energy Transition
  4. Societal Challenges linked to the Environment
  5. One Health approach (Human, Animal & Environmental health combined)

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide:

  • CV with publications (max 4 pages).
  • PhD diploma or completion certificate.
  • CV of host scientific advisor (max 2 pages).
  • Letter of support from host advisor (co-signed by lab director).
  • Up to 3 letters of recommendation.
  • Passport/ID.
  • Detailed research project proposal (title, abstract, context, objectives, methodology, positioning, international impact).

Selection Criteria

  • Phase 1: Scientific review by MESR-appointed experts.
  • Phase 2: Final selection by a scientific committee.

Application Process

  • Submit applications online via Campus France.
  • Applications may be written in English or French.

Important Dates

  • Application Opens: 12 September 2025
  • Deadline: 12 December 2025
  • Results: May/June 2026
  • Fellowship Start: Sept – Dec 2026
