MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) & MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) 2025 Overview

The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) has been providing financial aid to 300-level students in Science & Technology fields in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions since 2010. It awards ₦300,000 annually until graduation if grade requirements are met.

The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) supports 200 & 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The number of beneficiaries has increased from 60 to 100, and the award amount has increased to ₦300,000 annually.

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) & MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) 2025 Eligibility

✅ Institution of Study

• Open to students in Nigerian Public Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education.

✅ Course of Study

• STS: Open to 300-level students studying Science & Technology-related courses.
• SBS: Open to 200 & 300-level blind students in any course. (For Law students, only 300-level students can apply).

✅ Level of Study

• STS:
  • Open to students going into 300 level and current 300-level students.
• SBS:
  • Open to 200 & 300-level blind students.
  • For Law (5-year course), only 300-level students can apply.

✅ Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) Requirements

🔹 STS (Science & Technology Scholarship)

• Public Universities & Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Credit).
• Public Polytechnics (HND applicants): Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) in OND, and must have secured admission into HND.
• Direct Entry (DE) students: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) in OND, and must have secured admission into 300 level in a Public University.

🔹 SBS (Scholarship for Blind Students)

• Universities & Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 2.5.
• Public Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 in OND and must have secured admission into HND.

Scholarship Amount

• ₦300,000 per year, awarded until graduation, provided the student meets the grade requirements.
