PBEEE Québec Scholarships 2026–2027: Fully Funded Study & Research Opportunities for International Students 

The Merit Scholarship Program for Foreign Students (PBEEE), managed by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) and funded by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur du Québec (MES), supports top international students and researchers who wish to study or conduct research in Québec.

Scholarship Components

1. Master’s Research Scholarships (VM)

   • Value: $20,000/year

   • Maximum: 2 years (up to $40,000)

   • For research-based Master’s programs (thesis required).

2. Doctoral Research Scholarships (V1, 1B, 1C, 1I, 1IS, 1W)

   • Value: $25,000/year (first 9 semesters), then $12,000/semester (up to 3 semesters)

   • Maximum: 4 years (up to $87,000 total)

3. Postdoctoral Scholarships (V2, 2B, 2C, 2I)

   • Value: $35,000 for 1 year (non-renewable)

4. Short-Term Research/Professional Development Scholarships (V3, 3B, 3C, 3I, 3IS, 3W)

   • Value: $3,000/month

   • Maximum: 4 months (up to $12,000)

Eligibility

• Open to non-Canadian citizens who are not permanent residents of Canada.

• Candidates must be preselected by a Québec university, the CCTT network, or the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

• Research must align with an eligible discipline (health, social sciences, arts, natural sciences, or engineering).

• Applicants must meet degree-specific eligibility timelines (e.g., within 2 years of PhD for postdocs).
