Overview
The Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship 2026 by the Swedish Institute supports women from Africa and Asia who aspire to create positive change through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The scholarship funds one- or two-year master’s programmes at top Swedish universities and fosters leadership, sustainability, and innovation.
Recipients also join the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) — a global platform for collaboration, professional growth, and lifelong connection.
Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be female citizens of one of the following countries: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, or Vietnam.

Apply for an eligible STEM-related master’s programme in Sweden.

Be liable to pay tuition fees through University Admissions.

Have at least 3,000 hours of work experience and demonstrated leadership experience.

Not have previously studied in Sweden or received a Swedish Institute scholarship.

Not hold Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship or residency.
Benefits
The scholarship provides a fully funded opportunity that includes:

Monthly living allowance: SEK 12,000.

Travel grant: SEK 15,000 (one-time payment).

Application Process

Apply for the Scholarship:
Complete the SI application form between 9–25 February 2026. -
