The Radboud Scholarship Programme is a highly competitive academic award offered by Radboud University in the Netherlands. The scholarship aims to attract top global talent and support them in achieving excellence in education and research.

Radboud University Master’s Scholarship for International Students 2026: Eligibility

To be eligible for the Radboud Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport.

  • Not qualify for the lower EU/EEA tuition fees.

  • Have obtained a Bachelor’s degree from an institution outside the Netherlands.

  • Not hold any prior degree from a Dutch institution (except for short exchange programmes).

  • Meet the English language proficiency requirement for their chosen Master’s programme.

  • Receive full admission to an English-taught Master’s programme starting 1 September 2026.

  • Be able to meet visa requirements for studying in the Netherlands.

  • Be enrolled full-time at Radboud University for the academic year and programme for which the scholarship is awarded.

Radboud University Master’s Scholarship for International Students 2026: Benefits

  • Tuition Fee Reduction: Pay only €2,695 instead of the full fee (up to €18,000).

  • Additional Coverage: The scholarship also covers costs for visa, residence permit, health insurance, and liability insurance (Aon Student Insurance).

  • Duration: Valid for the entire duration of the Master’s programme (one or two years).

  • Number of Awards: Up to 33 scholarships are available each year, distributed across faculties.

Fellowship or Program Components

The scholarship is open to students in all English-taught Master’s programmes (excluding Erasmus Mundus and joint-degree programmes). It is awarded across six faculties:

  • Faculty of Arts

  • Faculty of Law

  • Nijmegen School of Management

  • Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies

  • Faculty of Science

  • Faculty of Social Sciences

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents via the OSIRIS Application system:

  • Two reference letters (preferably academic).

  • A curriculum vitae (CV).

  • Proof of English language proficiency.

  • A motivation letter explaining academic goals and ambition.
    Applicants who have already uploaded these documents for admission can reuse them for the scholarship application.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on:

  1. Academic Excellence – Outstanding results, high grades, and relevance of previous degree.

  2. Ambition and Motivation – Quality of the motivation letter, professional goals, and alignment with the chosen programme.

  3. Extracurricular Achievements – Leadership, internships, or volunteering experience.

  4. References – Strong academic recommendations demonstrating the applicant’s research potential and commitment.

Application Process

  1. Apply for your preferred English-taught Master’s programme through the OSIRIS Application system.

  2. Indicate that you wish to apply for the Radboud Scholarship.

  3. Upload all required documents before the stated deadlines.

  4. Wait for confirmation from the university’s admissions office.

  5. Selection and scholarship decisions are made by faculty committees.

Important Dates

  • Application Opens: Ongoing

  • Application Submission Deadline: 31 January 2026, 23:59 CEST

  • Final Document Completion Deadline: 14 February 2026, 23:59 CEST

  • Scholarship Decision Notification: Before mid-April 2026

  • Programme Start Date: 1 September 2026
