Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid ordinary passport

• Must be in good physical and mental health, with no criminal record

• Master’s applicants: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree

• PhD applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree (or direct entry from a Bachelor for select programs)

• Must meet English/Chinese language proficiency requirements

• Scholarship Age Limits:
  • Under 35 for Master’s applicants
  • Under 40 for PhD applicants

How to Apply

Two application channels (choose one only):

1️⃣ Via SJTU Online System (Type B)

• Apply at: http://apply.sjtu.edu.cn

• Agency Code: 10248

• If not selected for CGS, you will automatically be considered for SGS/SJTU scholarships

2️⃣ Via Chinese Embassy/Consulate (Type A)

• Schedule differs by country (typically November–April)

• Must also complete the SJTU online application afterward

• Application Fee: RMB 800 (~USD 120) — Non-refundable

• Scholarships are not extendable; an annual review is required

• Scholarship results available via the Study@SJTU system
