Study-In-USA: The College of Wooster International students merit scholarships

Study-In-USA: The College of Wooster International students merit scholarships. International students applying to The College of Wooster can be considered for both merit scholarships and need-based financial aid.  When a student submits an application for admission, they must fill out the Wooster International Aid form indicating whether they wish to apply for need-based aid or only merit-based scholarships.  Students will receive access to the form once your application is submitted.  Please note that The College of Wooster is need-aware in the international admissions process.

Students who are offered admission to The College of Wooster will be awarded a financial aid package at the time of admission.  The Wooster International Scholarship includes both merit and need-based aid in one award.

International student costs for the 2023-24 academic year are estimated as follows:
Tuition and fees:  $59,500
Housing and meals: $14,000
Books and international health insurance: $2,500
Total Costs:  $76,000

You, or your family or sponsor, should be able to fund the total costs at Wooster, less any scholarships received from the College and any campus employment applied to your account.  See below for merit and need-based scholarship opportunities for international students.  Contact global@wooster.edu for any questions.

Merit Based Scholarships

Both first-year and transfer international students are automatically considered for competitive, merit-based scholarships. Merit scholarships range from $5,000/year to $30,000/year and are based on academic talent, contributions to the high school and local community, personal essay, and recommendation letters.

Need Based Financial Aid

To apply for need-based financial aid, international students must submit the Wooster International Aid Form (IAF). The Wooster IAF is completed electronically on a student’s application portal, which is accessed once the application is submitted to Wooster. Students may submit the IAF or an alternate form such as the CSS profile. It’s important that you fill out this document accurately and completely. Incorrect or incomplete information can negatively affect your offer of admission. Need-based aid is competitive; the maximum financial aid package at Wooster for international students, including both merit and need-based aid, is full tuition.

Students may also choose to submit the CSS profile or other financial aid forms if they prefer.

Students who are awarded Need-Based financial aid will have that amount included in their Wooster International Scholarship at the time of admission.

Funding for Experiential Learning

Wooster provides a unique opportunity for students to receive fellowships to take advantage of research and internship opportunities, both in the U.S. and abroad, and even start their own businesses. APEX Fellowships, Copeland funding, and Launch Club are three of the ways Wooster offers support for pursuits outside the classroom.
