The UCL Global Master’s Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious funding opportunity created to support international students from lower-income backgrounds who wish to pursue a full-time, on-campus Master’s degree at University College London (UCL).
The scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers to postgraduate education and help talented students from across the world access one of the UK’s top universities.

Value / Benefits

  • £15,000 scholarship value

  • Applied first to tuition fees

  • Any remaining balance is paid to the student in three instalments for maintenance support

  • Up to 85 scholarships available

    • 5 reserved for students from India

    • 1 reserved for a student from Japan (Musubi Global Master’s Scholarship)

Duration

  • 1 year for standard Master’s programmes

  • For 2-year programmes: £7,500 per year (50% each year)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be an international student (outside the UK)

  • Be eligible to pay Overseas tuition fees

  • Come from a lower-income background

  • Have submitted a complete admission application to UCL for a full-time Master’s programme (2026/27)

  • Be studying on-campus in the UK

Selection Criteria

  • Based strictly on financial need

  • Selection is made on the recommendation of the UCL Student Funding Office

Scholarship Stacking Policy

  • Can be combined with other scholarships, awards, or bursaries

  • Total funding must not exceed permitted limits

  • Students must declare any additional funding to UCL immediately
