Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Apply for any eligible Humanities Master’s or PhD programme.

  • Meet the minimum academic requirements for their chosen course.

  • Be either postgraduate taught or postgraduate research applicants.

  • Can be of any nationality (no nationality restrictions).

Benefits

The studentship includes:

  • Full tuition fees (at UK or international rate).

  • Tax-free annual stipend at the UKRI rate

    • For 2025/26: £20,780 per year.

  • Funding for the entire duration of study:

    • 1+3 = Master’s + 3-year PhD

    • 1+4 = Master’s + 4-year PhD

  • Continuation of funding is based on satisfactory academic progress.

Programme Components

  • Full Master’s programme followed by a funded PhD (1+3 or 1+4 model).

  • Supervision and research support within the Faculty of Humanities.

  5. Await outcome after assessment by Faculty committees.

Programme applications must be completed by:

  • Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS):
    1 December 2025

  • School of Arts, Languages and Cultures:
    12 January 2026

  • School of Education, Environment and Development:
    19 January 2026

  • School of Social Sciences:
    1 December 2025

Note:

  • Offers cannot be deferred.

  • If you miss your start date, the award will be withdrawn.

  • You may reapply in a future cycle.
