Overview

The WAAW (Working to Advance STEM Education for African Women) Foundation Scholarship supports young African women pursuing STEM-related undergraduate degrees in Africa. The program aims to empower female students to achieve their academic goals while promoting women’s participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through community outreach and leadership.

Eligibility

• Must be a female student of African origin, residing and studying in Africa.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at a recognized university or college in Africa.

• Must be studying a STEM-related course (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).

• Open to first or second-year students, or third-year students in a 5-year program.

• Must be below 32 years of age.

• Must demonstrate financial need.

• Must have an excellent academic record.

• Must show leadership qualities, volunteering experience, and community service involvement.

Benefits

• Financial support to cover tuition and other academic-related expenses.

• Mentorship and leadership development through the WAAW STEM Outreach Chapter at the scholar’s university.
