The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford is a prestigious, fully funded graduate award that supports outstanding students from developing and emerging economies. Established in 2015, the programme not only provides 100% tuition fee coverage and a living grant (minimum £20,780), but also develops global leaders through a unique leadership training, long-term mentoring, and networking programme.

This scholarship is part of the Oxford Graduate Scholarships initiative, with funding contributions from Oxford University and the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust.

Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme 2026: Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Apply for a new full-time graduate course at Oxford (eligible courses only).

  • Intend to return to their home country after completing their studies.

  • Show a strong link between their chosen field of study and long-term career goals, particularly how they will contribute to improving public life in their home country, region, or internationally.

  • Be ordinarily resident in an eligible country.

  • Submit a complete application by the relevant December or January 2026 deadline (depending on course).

  • Not already hold deferred offers or be current Oxford students (unless already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholars).

Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme 2026: Benefits

  • 100% of tuition fees covered.

  • Living grant of at least £20,780 per year.

  • Scholarship awarded for the full duration of fee liability for the chosen course.

  • Membership in a leadership programme that includes:

    • Mentoring and coaching.

    • Training in communication, philosophy, and leadership.

Fellowship/Programme Components

The Leadership Programme is at the core of the scholarship and includes:

  • A community of scholars committed to public service and leadership.

 Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • University of Oxford graduate application form (by December/January deadline).

  • The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement uploaded with the application.

  • Academic transcripts, references, and supporting documents required by the chosen course.

  • A strong personal statement demonstrating leadership and commitment to public service.

Selection Criteria

Successful candidates will be assessed on:

  • Academic excellence and professional achievements.

  • Leadership potential and evidence of public service.

  • Clarity of career goals and how their Oxford studies will help achieve them.

  • Commitment to return home and contribute to societal improvement.

  • Performance at the interview stage (expected April 2026).

Application Process

  • Apply for an eligible graduate course at Oxford by the December or January 2026 deadline (varies by course).

  • Select Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the “Scholarships” section of the application.

  • Upload the required Scholarship Statement.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to online interviews in April 2026.

  • Final results will be announced by May 2026.
