World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship 2026: Overview

The World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Program 2026 is a pioneering initiative designed to help governments harness the power of data for smarter decision-making and improved public administration. By combining insights from the Government Analytics Handbook with hands-on training and expert mentorship, the fellowship empowers mid-level government professionals to design and implement data-driven projects that transform governance and efficiency. This six-month fellowship blends in-person training in Washington, D.C. with continuous expert support from the World Bank and University College London (UCL).

World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship 2026 | Fully Funded Training in Washington, D.C.: Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Work in central government organizations (including agencies).

  • Be mid-level managers or senior analysts with the authority to lead a government analytics project.

  • Be nominated by their organization (maximum 2 fellows per organization).

  • Have prior coursework in statistics or quantitative methods.

  • Be proficient in English.

  • Be available to travel to Washington, D.C. for in-person training.

  • Fully funded participation in the World Bank Government Analytics course in Washington, D.C. (including travel, hotel, and subsistence for applicants from ODA-eligible countries).

World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship 2026 | Fully Funded Training in Washington, D.C.: Fellowship / Program Components

  • Six-Month Fellowship: Combination of online guidance and practical project development.

  • Two Weeks of Intensive In-Person Training in Washington, D.C., covering:

    • Public Institutions Conference

    • Government Analytics course

  • Ongoing in-service expert support for the fellow’s government project.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit in English:

  1. CV (maximum 3 pages).

  2. A 150-word project summary, explaining how fellowship insights will improve their organization’s operations.

  3. Endorsement letter from their organization, confirming nomination and authority to conduct the project.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to applying data analytics in government decision-making.

  • Leadership potential and organizational authority to implement projects.

  • Relevance and feasibility of the proposed government analytics project.

  • Strong academic or professional background in quantitative methods.

  • Endorsement and support from home organization.
